Instructions - Remove or Install Front or Rear Wheel

It is important to use proper equipment (such as a low profile jack and Tesla jack pads) and to lift the vehicle from the designated jacking points, one wheel at a time.

  1. Gather the necessary tools and equipment. You will need a floor jack, jack stands, lug nut wrench or socket, torque wrench, and the new wheels and tires.

  2. Park the car on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

  3. Use the lug nut wrench or socket to loosen the lug nuts on the wheel you want to remove. Do not remove the lug nuts yet.

  4. Use the floor jack to lift the car at the appropriate jack point. Place the jack stand under the car to support it, and then lower the car onto the jack stand.

  5. Finish removing the lug nuts and carefully remove the wheel.

  6. Carefully place the new wheel onto the hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts.

  7. Use the torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications. Tighten them in a star pattern to ensure even pressure.

  8. Repeat the process for the other wheels.

  9. Once all wheels have been replaced, lower the car off the jack stands and onto the ground.

  10. Use the torque wrench to re-tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications after a short period of driving.

It's important to note that if you are not experienced in changing tires or wheels, it's best to have a professional mechanic do it for you. Improper installation can cause serious safety issues while driving.
